Despicable US and The Fear Factor

Despicable US and the Fear Factor

We are told that cancer is often undetected because it can be painless. We are told that our National Debt is a "cancer" in our society. I will make the case that Fear, like cancer, can be painless for a season. "Let me count the ways..."

While most were not watching, our government has grown large and extended its reach into almost all areas of our lives. We are beginning to recognize more and more restrictions on our God given rights, privileges, and freedoms in a form of fear of retribution. Classic examples: Preachers are not teaching biblical truths for fear of losing their tax-free status as a "church." Teachers are walking a tightrope in class to avoid any subject that might be controversial or of "religious" nature. Higher

ranked educators fear the loss of funds for their districts or universities because of numerous events they must carefully avoid. Joining them, religious believers are fearful of offending anyone by speaking out on subjects socially declared taboo by legislation and enforced by threats of withholding funding.

It is uncertain that the charge should be openly stated: The American People Fear Their Government. What is also unclear is how insidiously painless the condition has become? Perhaps the "Frog in the pan of water" which is slowly heated... applies. Where actual death comes before recognition of the condition. "When the people fear the government...there is tyranny...when the government fears the people...there is democracy."

Fear is expressed in many ways. Have you read one of those two page, fine print, all inclusive disclaimers with every prescription drug you take? That is a fear of litigation and a denial of liability or accountability. Known in the industry as "risk management." They are almost useless because they cover so many issues which may or may not be applicable.

Our military veterans who have experienced combat will tell you horror stories from all wars about the civilian directives known as "rules of engagement" and how hampered they were from doing many of the things needed to aggressively and successfully complete the mission at hand. With an enemy before them they certainly do not need one behind them anxious to legally assault them upon their return. I´ve been there... and that is a form of "double jeopardy" like a two-edged sword. We train our warriors well and they deserve the most competent civilian oversight our country can provide. Very few realize how weak that chain can become when our national survival is on the line.

We are now seeing the fears facing the unemployed. Many of whom are victims of our banking systems who now find it most appropriate to raise their interest rates to outrageous ( and biblically prohibited) (Usury) levels when their chances to pay are the most desperate. Forty million Americans are on food stamps, more than one million will declare bankruptcy and more than twenty-five million are unemployed. (www.usdebtclock.org/)

Next, we must assess the situation. Let´s not do as we usually do...find someone to blame! Nor should we simply tuck our tails and run. Whining is for wimps and sticking one´s head in the sand

may get our butts kicked.

Why don´t we use our sports advice and return to our basic principles and fundamentals? We need to take a hard look at the voters for a change... not just the politicians they elect, however tempting that may be. I know some good decent people in California and they don´t represent a Nancy Pelosi as I see her. So, how do we find more decent people? You know...ones that vote? We must restore the voters to restore the American Dream.

Here´s one way:

A. Put God back in our lives at every level. Stop being afraid to speak where the bible speaks. Render unto the government what belongs to it but do not allow the government to dictate where God reigns Supreme. That´s how they did it in 1776 to overthrow the English King! He was usurping God´s place in the lives of people here. Study our history...Our forefathers anguished over their Christian beliefs to allow themselves the right to be free under a ruler whom God allowed on the throne.

B. Preachers must preach, Teachers must teach, Christians must demonstrate their Faith and their beliefs, Children must learn important and worthwhile material, Business must be honest, fair and just to their employees, Employees must be honest, fair and just to their employers. All citizens must pledge allegiance to the flag, learn our language (with our help)and our history (with our help).

C. We were "given a republic, if we can keep it." Our freedom and original form of government was designed for a population of people who could and would govern themselves...knowing right from wrong and being willing to adhere to the right (which, by the way, is part of the definition of sanity). We cannot pass enough laws, hire enough enforcers, build enough prisons, or execute enough people to provide everyone the right to pursue happiness otherwise.

D. There are many good and talented citizens in America. The Bible says we can find those who are capable of handling small matters and give them larger roles to perform. People who have proven themselves worthy by preparation for the offices to which they might Serve should be carefully selected by the voters under full disclosure. When did you last hear we had a "statesman" or a "public servant" who honestly held that position? It must start at the local levels, our communities, towns, cities, counties, states and lower levels of the national government. It will not happen overnight, and we will not do it perfectly but we must start soon.

God has Blessed America...will He continue? "The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind..."
